‘Even If It’s Under Supervision, Let A Mother See Her Kids’ – Toyin Lawani Calls Out Fani-Kayode
Fashion entrepreneur, Toyin Lawani has waded into the ongoing custody battle between Fani-Kayode and his ex-wife, Precious Chikwendu.
Fani-Kayode and Chikwendu have been in a legal tussle since their marriage crashed in 2020.
Chikwendu in an interview had spoken of how her ex-husband has prevented her from seeing her kids over the past year.
“The children are with him, I haven’t seen them since August 2nd, 2020. Yes, since August 2nd, 2020, I haven’t seen my children and I’ve been physically prevented from seeing them,” she had lamented.
“I don’t know if my children are alright because they don’t take my calls. I don’t know the school he changed my sons to. I’m told they go to school. The last I filed a suit, they said the children are in school and they are okay.
Reacting in a post on Instagram, the mother of three called out the ex-minister adding that his ex-wife should be allowed to see her children.
“See this man. You can rant rubbish about me but can’t settle your home. Busy torturing a mother, taking her 4 kids away from her, not allowing her to see them for over a year, arresting the mother of your kids,” Lawani wrote.
“Pushing her to run around to one court or the other. Heard you are a bully that’s why everyone is not speaking up for her.
“It’s extremely sad everyone chooses to use their voice and platform for some kids and not for some cause of who is involved. See, I sat down on my own, you spoke about me. If you talk about me, I will talk about you.
“You no try. Even if it’s under supervision, let a mother see her kids. I don’t care what transpired between you people, drop that ego, drop that shoulder of yours and do the right thing. God knows I don’t know @snowhiteey.”
Lawani likened Chikwendu’s experience to what she faced when she couldn’t see her own daughter for five years.
“I have never met her , but I have been crying for her. If someone stops me from seeing my kids, I might hurt myself. When I couldn’t see my 1st child for 5 years while she was in America, I was quite depressed,” she added.
“Everyone didn’t know my pains but it wasn’t a good one. I missed out on so many important moments like her 1st period etc, not to talk of the tender age those 4 kids are right now. They need their mother.
“Let’s all standup and speak up for this lady. Nothing wrong with doing so. People are calling out bullies.,I’m wondering why your name is not number one on that list.”
