Meningitis Outbreak In Jigawa Kills 65 Children, Hundreds Hospitalized
Meningitis outbreak in Jigawa state has killed 65 children with hunreds hospitalised.
Jigawa State Ministry of Health announced this saying no fewer than 65 children have died as a result of the outbreak of Cerebrospinal Meningitis (CSM) in the state.
The information was confirmed by the state epidemiologist at the ministry of health, Samaila Mahmud while responding to questions from newsmen over the outbreak of the disease.
He said the state has recorded over 257 cases in 18 out of the 27 local government areas in the state as a result of the disease.
Out of the number of cases recorded so far, 65 people have lost their lives, he explained.
