FCE Yola shutdown over students protests of NO WATER, and more

The management of Federal College of Education (FCE) Yola, has shut down the institution in proactive action to forestall break down of law and order in the school following protest by the students of the school.

According to one of the students, “we are protesting poor living conditions on campus and it got worst when the industrial borehole broke down and the management did nothing about it.”

The situation was aggregated when some of the rioting students were chased by armed military personnel and other security operatives.

Irked by the presence of security operatives, the students went wild, set fire on buildings and vandalized stores.

A student who does not want to be mentioned said the college had been without water for many days saying that, “We were left to sleep and study under poor environmental conditions, imagining, over 3000 students living without water supply for days now.”

“We have to source for water outside the college. We also have issues with the power supply,” he added.

However, FCE authorities have admitted there was a breakdown in the college’s main water source, but however denied that students were left without water supply for too long.
