Ganduje leaves for US, hands over power to deputy

Kano state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Tuesday night left to the United States of America (USA) for a week-long leadership training programme.

Malam Muhammad Garba, the commissioner for Information in a statement signed and made available to Reporters in Kano explained that his principal would be “attending an Authentic Leadership Development Programme at Harvard Business School, Boston.”

Garba in the statement revealed that Mr. Ganduje had since transited power to his Deputy, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna to serve as the Acting governor of the state.

The statement further explained that during the period of Ganduje’s absence, “henceforth, official transactions should be channeled through the office of the Deputy Governor for necessary action.”
